Gastroenterology Training at Hammersmith Hospital, London for 6 weeks in 1985. Awarded a scholarship by the Japanese Council for Training Programme in 1987 for Endoscopic Training at Toranomon Hospital, Tokyo, Japan. Selected again for further specialised Gastroenterology Training in Tokyo for one month in 1995. (The only candidate who was awarded the scholarship twice as a ‘reward’ for being conferred the ‘Most Outstanding Fellow of the Year’ award at the end of the posting at Toranomom Hospital in 1987.

Awarded the Commonwealth Fellowship Award by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission for training in Hepatology at the Royal Free Hospital in London in 1991-1992
